1.Why Thetravelerspage.com was started.

Thetravelerspage.com was started by myself and my wife because we love to travel. We usually planned our travels on shoestring budgets as we have 3 kids to bring along. Mostly we traveled around Peninsular Malaysia or West Malaysia as some would describe it. Occassional excursions overseas were few and far in between. But we enjoyed our trips mainly because they were not "rush to destinations and rush back home" affairs.

We had many stops along the journey for rest and for the Chinese hobby "Always Eat". We would try out any food outlets that friends reccommended. It dawned on us that not only the Chinese love to travel and eat but so does all the the other races that make up the multiracial mix of Malaysia. And Malaysia being a cauldron  mix of different races is also blessed with a wide variety of culinary delights. That  was one of the reasons Thetravelerspage.com was born.

The main reason we started Thetravelerspage.com was that we had looked around the websites mainly in Malaysia for traveling, they were mostly websites from tour agents, Hotels or Resorts advertising their own travel and stay packages. We didn't really find one that people could actually share with one another their  travel experiences be it good or bad. (Usually its good , the bad ones got censored). As I love to travel, I too have experiences both good and bad which I feel other travelers should know. E.g. if we got fleeced by Taxis who do we complain to. Or the hotel that we stayed in either gives bad or totally non existant service than others should know. We can do this and rate Hotels or restaurants that have too many complains so that others can be wary of them. But the other way around if Hotels or restaurants are well rated by other members, then we can safely say they are recommended establishments.

 2. What  Purpose would Thetravelerspage.com serve.

a. One objective would be to provide a one stop platform whereby travelers can find easy access to good travel deals and packages. Instead of shifting through many tour agents or Hotel websites we can provide a one stop center where travelers can find good deals and packages that will suit their individual needs.

b. The main objective would be to provide information to aspiring travelers everywhere for them to fully enjoy their travels. Providing travelers with information on where to go, where to stay, where are the best foods, travel tips to help them prepare for their travels especially to a different culture and country will help travelers to fully appreciate the place that they will visit. This can be achieved through interviews and visits to places by us but most important and valueble would be contributions from you our members. To share your travel experiences via your travel blogs and forum discussions. We cannot cover that many ground but together with your contributions, articles, blogs etc. will provide fellow members with different insights and advises that I believe would be a great help to others.

c. Another objective though some say difficult to attain would be to provide a platform for travelers who would like to travel to help others. Be it helping people in need e.g. Red Crescent, Emergency services and organisations, Orphanages, Shelter Homes or travel to help caring for nature as in providing assistance to NGO e.g.World Wildlife Fund  or Zoological foundation. It is my hope that this website can have a care travel community, probably groups of people arranging travels to reach out to others. Difficult to attain was what someone told me but I believe otherwise.
