Oh!! So hard to look for a good tasty plate of Original Penang Fried Kueh Teow.
Staying in Kuala Lumpur is okay with me, only one thing I miss is my morning boost. I can only feel strenghtened if i had my morning teh gu nee and my tasty plate of char keow teow. I can't think of going to work without them. Now in Kay EL ah so difficult to find my morning "boost me up" breakfast. I've been to so many kopi tiam, but some cook soggy, some "or or" (too much black sauce) ehh.. some bo bee ( tasteless), worst of all which i can't accept in Char kueh Teow is the see ham ( Clams) not fresh. How can this be man, not fresh see ham is a no no in char kueh teow, but you get it in Kay El. So far i found one that has reasonable standard but not consistent cooking. This fellow is quite young but his char kueh teow is eh sai lah.. better then many i've tried. Not too soggy , not too black , not too dry and most of all not china man fry one ah. Nowadays you find chinaman direct fly in cannot speak cantonese, no need to say Hokkien, only talk to you in Pu tong hwa also don't know from where the slang, work in stall can fry char kueh teow. I see also.. i think. . sure or not....can meh china man fry my beloved char kueh teow.. So my taste bud say if you are looking for acceptable char kueh teow try the one in Kepong Taman Bintang. corner kopi tiam but only morning. don't go at night , his sister fry at night beh chiak one. So go only morning. Don't ask me for direction ask someone from Kay El lah. If you know of any good penang food please tell me aah. How ah ? Forum lah.. hai yah .. |
