![]() Seafood Restaurant In Kuala Selangor Fresh Seafood in Kuala Selangor .Malaysia is a blessed country, surrounded by beautiful beaches and seasides. Not surprising that you can find seafood restaurants almost anywhere near the seasides. From great seafood tomyam in Kelantan to tasty ikan bakar (grilled fish) in Melaka . Well known seafood restaurants from Penang down south to Tanjung Piai . Thetravelerspage took a trip nearby (40plus Km) to Kuala Selangor to try out a new seafood restaurant. This restaurant we were told is reasonable in price and serves fresh seafood. Located in Kampung Pasir Penambang , just about 3 Km after you pass the Selangor River from Kuala Selangor town. We had previously tried a few river side restaurants there, but were not convince as we felt the food was more catered for the droves of tourist who stop there to eat before heading to see the fire flies. The prices in those restaurants reflect this. So when we were told of this place and with the recommendations from friends we went. The restaurant is located in the main kampung road, only it is not by the river but at the main road itself. Directly opposite the new incomplete wet market. There is ample parking as it is a distance away from the other restaurants. We arrived there after stopping by Tanjung Karan g to buy our supply of fish and prawns. It was about 4pm too late for lunch and too early for dinner but we were hungry. There were not many diners there during that time, guess we are not the only ones who are eating around this time. The Dishes ordered.
The second dish was the sea mantis shrimp cooked in ketchup. It was lightly fried before stirring in some green pepper, sweetened cubes of pineapple, diced of big onions and a sprinkle of rice wine. Garnished with some parsley and cashew nuts.
We also ordered kangkong fried with chiili and belacan (fermented shrimp cake). The kangkong was young and crunchy. The next dish was fish fillet stir fried with ginger and spring onions. The fillet was soft and tender. The last dish we had 'Fu Pok' stuffed with fish paste and chopped parsley, cooked in soup. The taste of the fish paste was fresh and the soup was purely sweet. The sweetness of the soup came from the fish paste itself. The soup helped down the amount of food we had taken. It was a hearty meal and we were duly surprised when the bill came. The price paid for was RM 120 including packing for 3 pax for those at home. It was a good meal so just had to pack back for those who missed out. We packed sea mantis shrimp in ketchp, fried soft shell crab and fried veg. What an excellent meal and a wonderful trip we had to Kuala Selangor .
