Try staying in Apartments when in Cameron

We were in Cameron Highland s on an inpromptu visit, it was a weekend, Saturday evening and the start of the school holidays. So think of packed Camerons and a no place to stay situation. We went to several hotels including Equatorial and Country Lodge looking for a room that doesn't eat into my wallet like an alligator on a feeding frenzy. But all reasonably priced hotel rooms were fully booked.

We were short of sleeping in the car by the roadside, when my wife noticed a sign on a huge looking bungalow that says Apartments for rent, 2 rooms RM160 and 3 rooms RM 190. So we thought why not, lets try it out. It seems the owner of the bungalow has together with some other friends built a 3 storey block of apartments in Tanah Rata. Not very high you might say. but thinking that either this or we sleep out in the cold, we decided to try.

The owner had promise us big rooms and clean sheets. Our experience of dirty apartments in Genting Highlands didn't help the situation, so it was to our surprise that we found the apartments well kept, clean, kitchen complete with pots, pans and gas. Full tank too.  Ahhh.I forgot to mention hot water heater.  You just can't do without that in Camerons. And they even provide soap bars in every bathroom.

 The apartment rented to us was a larger unit which the owner charged us RM200/- . We felt  it was a waste that we didn't  have friends with us as the apartment could  accommodate comfortably 2 families. It had 3 rooms and 3 bathrooms all complete with hot water shower, a large living and dining room, a nice big balcony, a big kitchen with gas cooker, no plates and utensils so remember to bring your own,  TV in the living room with Astro channels. The bedrooms had a queen bed in each room plus blankets and pillows, there were 3 extra single mattresses with blankets and pillows provided in case there was a need. 

We felt the apartment could accommodate about 10pax comfortably maybe more and we were only 5. So for RM200 it was a good bargain.

We noticed that there were other signboards at several locations that also had apartment for rent, so look around if this one is fully booked. The place is quite new so not many people know about it yet.
